FYRE Counselor/ Coordinator

Ann Chan – FYRE Counselor/Coordinator
Ann is excited to support FYRE scholars in succeeding at UCI. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.S. in Chemical Biology and has her Master’s in Social Work from CSU Long Beach. She is passionate about educational equity and helping students succeed in higher education and beyond!

Millie Montoya
FYRE/ TSC Coordinator
Millie is an Orange County native and attended Santiago Canyon College before transferring to UCSC (go banana slugs!), where she double-majored in Sociology and Feminist Studies. Millie found a passion for working in higher education at UCSC as an RA for Transfer Student Housing and as a Violence Prevention Intern at the CARE Office. Millie aims to mix her background in sociology with higher education work to ensure students feel supported and empowered on their higher education journeys. After graduating from UCSC, Millie worked at Recovery Education Institute where she helped college students in recovery from mental health and substance use learn tools for succeeding in college. Now, as the TSC/FYRE Coordinator Millie coordinates events and workshops for the office as well as offers support for incoming Transfer and FYRE students.
In her free time, Millie enjoys watching movies, reading fantasy books, and spending time with her family. Please contact her with any questions, support needed, or just to say hi!
