Court Bear

At children’s court, foster youth often receive teddy bears or other stuffed animals as a gesture of comfort and support. These bears are typically given during court proceedings, particularly when children are going through the foster care process, such as when they are being removed from their homes or officially adopted.

The teddy bear serves as a symbol of care, warmth, and emotional support during a difficult time. It’s meant to offer the child something familiar and comforting in an otherwise overwhelming and unfamiliar situation. The bear can act as a small source of stability and reassurance, helping the child feel a sense of security in the midst of the emotional challenges they may be facing in the court system.
